The Cancer Exercise Training Institute is officially coming to Nova Scotia! The two day LIVE Workshop will be held April 25th-26th, 2020 from 9-5 each day at Cole Harbour Place, located at 51 Forest Hills Pkwy, Dartmouth, NS. The workshop is open to all Health and Fitness Professionals.
The Cancer Exercise Specialist® live workshop is based on the curriculum from the Cancer Exercise Specialist® Advanced Qualifications course which was developed for Health and Fitness Professionals (Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors, Pilates, Yoga, etc.) seeking to attain a higher level of mastery and work with cancer patients during and after cancer surgery and treatment and into survivorship. Workshop participants will gain an understanding of the entire cancer process from diagnosis and treatment to reconstruction and survivorship.
The course curriculum covers 26 types of cancer, as well as pediatrics, with special emphasis on breast cancer and breast reconstruction and is the most comprehensive coursework available on the subject of cancer recovery through exercise. Our unique and individualized programming will help to improve the patient’s ability to cope with the mental and physical stress following cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Participants may receive CECs for attending the workshop, however, attending the workshop on its own does not certify the participant as a Cancer Exercise Specialist®.
Participants wishing to become certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist®, (CES) must also take the CES exam (provided with the online course which is sold separately or as part of the Workshop/Course Bundle) and obtain an 80% or better for a passing grade. Upon obtaining an 80% or better on the exam you will become certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist® and be eligible for registration on the CES International Directory.
